Hand Me Down Clothes: Francine has to wear her dead sister’s hand me down clothes. It’s okay but kind of slight beyond one dark implication. It’s eh because I don’t quite get what the ending means, it implies something dark but it isn’t clear. Instead, we got a quick setup and punchline. Happy Death To You: Dorthy is stuck at her bad brother’s birthday party.

It’s a bit slight but has enough of a solid idea to make it alright. The ending is kind of nice if a bit confusing. And once again it gets dark, in a tragic way too. There isn’t much to this one but it has an interesting idea when we get to what is going on. Welcome to Fairview Cemetery: Janie inspects a strange women she sees in the local cemetery. I don’t know how “good” it is, as it is a bit rushed with the final beat being abrupt but the shock factor carries this one to being at least memorable. It gets into some weird logic but it makes for a wild final moment. I basically knew where it was going but man where it went was dark. First off, that’s not a name, no matter how many times they repeat it. Man, what a way to start.Ĭatch Me if You Can: After moving into a new house, Elgin starts seeing a strange boy around. It feels a bit rushed so it could have been more impactful but it works as it is, especially with the delightfully cruel ending. It’s a fun idea they use for some dark stuff.

Right off the bat we got a dark one that has more than one death in it. So as always we’ll go story by story to see how we do.Ī Greeting Card for Every Occasion: Mandy discovers special greeting cards that cause trouble. We’ve got 18 stories in that space so I imagine a lot be short. I picked this 1995 short story collection, because it’s Horror and is itself short at just 113 something pages.
