Had I known that Max Stella was waiting for me in this book, I DEFINITELY would have read this one a lot sooner!!! I am kicking myself for waiting so long to read this book!
At least to my ear.There are many things I love about the books I read, but one of my faves is when the male MC is a sexier than hell Brit!! Also when the setting takes place in New York City, the city I grew up in, well then I'm in heaven. But it is most disconcerting and uncomfortable to hear. Sorry! Didn't ruin it entirely as the book is too good for that. It would have been far better than the weirdness that comes out every time she's trying to be a Brit. The male actor I assume can't do an American accent and thus doesn't try. It is so jarring, every time she has a line of Max's it's so jarring it throws me out of the story entirely. However, the woman doing Sara? Worst British accent I have ever heard. The performances by the two voice actors are believable and I very much enjoyed them when they are in their own heads. I am charmed by Max and want to be Sara's friend. Sexy, witty and smart, they are engaging, current and manage to bed both some of the hottest stuff I've ever read, and also completely heart warming. I will immediately purchase anything by Christina Lauren-no brainier, they are brilliant. One of my fave books but man that accent is bad This isn't just worth a s worth your money.so download NOW! He makes me want to check for other books narrated by him and just listen for the sake of listening despite its content! As I finish up this review all it makes me want to do is start "Beautiful Stranger" from the beginning and experience it all over again.now that really says something. Why, you ask.because the intimate encounters in this novel are not only steamy and delicious but OH SO CREATIVE! I don't mean to spoil the book for anyone so I cannot go into detail, but trust me when I say that scenes from this novel will get your wheels turning on how to spice up your own love life! I've literally never listened/read a novel that gave me sex like this and Bravo for that! On a second note, I also believe this story was much more well thought out and planned then its predecessor and that is such a good thing to see, don't ya think? In "Beautiful Bastard" you are left to believe that these characters already really know one another, for the most part due to their work situation, but in "Beautiful Stranger" you really get to watch it all unfold before you and that is half of the fun! And lastly, Cole's narration in his very realistic and very sexy british accent brings this audio to meet the highest of your expectations. I listened to "Beautiful Bastard" and enjoyed it immensely, so when "Beautiful Stranger" was released I downloaded immediately.
